Office renovation in Paris

What an office renovation includes

Renovating offices in Paris means reworking an existing floor, often in an older building or an office tower, without stopping operations. Kytom designs and builds these renovations as Design & Build from Boulogne-Billancourt: one point of contact, a fixed price and schedule. Reference: Zentiva, 1,200 m² renovated in 4 months in occupied premises in 2025.

02

the method

A floor survey, a diagnosis of partitions, suspended ceilings, networks and ventilation, a programme of uses, then the design of the layout, materials and phasing. Works cover removal, partitioning, floors, ceilings, lighting and furniture, managed by the same team up to the final snag list.

03

occupied premises

Renovating without stopping work

In Paris, most renovations are carried out in occupied premises: the floor is split into zones, teams move from one zone to the next, noisy works take place outside office hours. Zentiva reworked 1,200 m² for around a hundred staff in 4 months this way, without leaving its offices.

04

the framework

Haussmann buildings and ERP

In an older building, the renovation works with mouldings, parquet floors, glass roofs and the rules of the co-ownership: an investment fund moved 21 staff into 300 m² of a listed Haussmann building in the 8th arrondissement in 3 months, with the original glass roofs preserved. If the offices receive the public, the works authorisation (Cerfa 13824) is reviewed in Paris by the Préfecture de police; depending on the works, a prior declaration or a building permit, often with the opinion of the Architecte des Bâtiments de France.

Questions fréquentes

How long does it take to renovate 1,200 m² of offices in Paris?
Allow 4 to 8 weeks of design, then 3 to 4 months of works: On-X, 1,200 m², in 3 months; Zentiva, 1,200 m² in occupied premises, in 4 months.
Can you renovate an office in a listed building?
Yes, by preserving the protected elements and with the agreement of the co-ownership; the Architecte des Bâtiments de France gives an opinion if the façade or protected parts are affected.
What is the difference between renovating and fitting out offices?
Renovation reworks an existing floor (removal, networks, ceilings, floors); a fit-out installs offices in a bare or new space. Kytom does both, with the same team.
